Dana enjoys success both on and off the dance floor.  She won the United States Closed Bronze Standard Championship in 2004.  Since then, she has won championships at major dance competitions across the U.S. and is recognized as a top level International Standard Finalist.

 

Success in business is second nature to Dana.  She is a 1984 graduate from Mingle's School of Real Estate and a past member of the Seven Million Dollar Club.  In her extensive career as an entrepreneur, she has owned a nail salon, bar cafe and tanning salon in addition to her four dance studios.  She is regularly recognized as a leader in Charlotte's ballroom dance community.

The mission of Queen City Ballroom is to enrich people's lives through the magic of dance, inspiring them to achieve their dreams and reach higher levels of self-esteem, personal fitness and emotional well-being -- benefits that last a lifetime

Queen City Ballroom's owner, Dana Glandon, is known nationwide as a championship level ballroom dancer and an outstanding business woman.  

 

Since 1989, she has designed and built four successful ballroom dance studios all of which became recognized among the top ten studios nationwide.

 

As a studio owner, Dana's consistent record speaks for itself.  Queen City Ballroom was named "Top Studio" in Charlotte 12 out of 13 years and is the only dance studio to win the "Best in Charlotte" award for dance instruction over three consecutive years.

 

Her studio has also received the "Top Studio" award at the Carolina Classic in Raleigh, the Virginia Star Ball, the Yanke Classic in Boston and the Heritage DanceSport Classic in Asheville, NC among many others.

DANA GLANDON - Owner & Founder

Tony received his Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Brigham Young University and worked as a broadcast television director with such companies as CNN, NBC, FOX and more before beginning his dance career.  Queen City Ballroom is the fifth successful ballroom dance facility Prado has managed and the third he has built.

 

As a ballroom dance competitor and studio owner, Prado has accumulated several awards including:

 

* Certified "Highly Commended" by the United States Terpsichore Association as an adjudicator

  in all five styles of dance

* Top Teacher Award, The North Carolina Classic, Charlotte, NC 2001 - 2006, 2008 - 2012

* Finalist United States Open Cabaret Championships, Tampa, FL 2005

* Top Ten Teachers Award, The Heritage DanceSport Classic, Asheville, NC  March 2005

* Top Studio Award, Yankee Classic DanceSport Challenge, Boston, MA  - July 2008

 

Dana & Tony are passionate about dancing and together they created a studio where everyone can come to experience the magic and joy of ballroom dancing.

 

Tony Prado, co-founder of Queen City Ballroom, has danced since 1995.  He is the only DVIDA Certified Master Examiner in the State of North Carolina.  He is also Charlotte's top ranked ballroom dance instructor for eleven years and the winner of numerous Top Instructor awards in dance competitions across the U.S.  Tony is a highly sought after consultant and choreographer in Argentine Tango having been featured via the internet during the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

 

As a competitor, Tony is a United States Cabaret Championship Finalist and a WDC World Pro-Am Finalist.

He is a certified ballroom dance adjudicator with "Highly Commended" honors in all styles of dancing.  

 

Off the dance floor, Tony is a well-known emcee at ballroom dance events nationwide.  As a television and stage personality, Tony has appeared in national television programs and many stage productions in the Charlotte Area.
